Child support orders are now made entirely by use of an algebraec formula. Judges have almost no authority to adjust the results which are obtained by inserting basic information into the formula, which then provides a mathematical result. Since no one can understand the formula, judges routinely use computer programs (usually the Dissomaster).

Judges routinely turn a deaf ear to claims by supporting parents that the order is unfair or unjust. They do not care that a supporting parent may be literally bankrupted by the size of a child support order. They summarily reject the reality that the guidelines have not kept pace with inflation and are now uniformly too low. They do, however, listen to clever lawyers who manipulate the computer program for their client’s benefit.

If you are unsure whether the child support in your case is correct, or if you are curious what guideline child support would be in your situation, give me a call and see how you can receive a complimentary printout of child support guidelines in your particular case. Don’t assume that, just because computer programs are used, the results can’t be manipulated. I have learned to use the program very effectively, and I know that it can be skillfully applied to achieve a better result.
